Simple and quick recipe of gajar ka halwa, an Indian famous desert

Gajar ka halwa:

A traditional Indian dessert made with grated carrots, milk, sugar, and a mix of spices and nuts. Here is a simple recipe to make it:

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups grated carrots
  • 3 cups full-fat milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup ghee (clarified butter)
  • 2 cardamom pods, crushed
  • 1/4 cup chopped almonds
  • 1/4 cup chopped cashews
  • 1 tbsp raisins

Instructions:

  1. In a large saucepan, heat the ghee over medium heat.
  2. Add the grated carrots and cook, stirring frequently, for about 10 minutes or until the carrots are soft.
  3. Add the milk and continue to cook, stirring frequently, until the milk has been fully absorbed by the carrots, about 20-25 minutes.
  4. Add the sugar and continue to cook, stirring constantly, until the sugar has fully dissolved.
  5. Add the crushed cardamom, almonds, cashews, and raisins and mix well.
  6. Cook for a few more minutes until the mixture thickens and starts to pull away from the sides of the pan.
  7. Remove from heat and serve warm. Enjoy your delicious Gajar Ka Halwa!

Note: You can adjust the amount of sugar and spices to taste. You can also add other ingredients such as cinnamon or nutmeg for additional flavor.
