Vada pav in maharashtra style simple recipe


Vada Pav is a deep-fried snack that is popular in India and mostly on the street of Maharashtra.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of gram flour (besan)
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon of cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon of coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
  • Water as needed
  • Oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the gram flour, salt, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and baking soda.
  2. Gradually add water to the bowl, a little at a time, and mix until a smooth batter forms. The batter should be thick but pourable.
  3. Heat the oil in a deep saucepan or kadhai over medium-high heat until hot.
  4. Scoop spoonfuls of the batter and gently drop them into the hot oil. Fry the bada pawa in batches until they are golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Use a slotted spoon to remove the fried bada pawa from the oil and transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  6. Serve the hot and crispy bada pawa with chutney or ketchup as a snack or appetizer.
